Description
Teuscher Walpole is looking for a well-organized Senior Audit Associate with exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. Audit Seniors should have excellent critical thinking skills and a strong background in performing audits, including documenting process flows/narratives and assessing the operational effectiveness of internal control. The ability to work independently is essential, and overtime will be required during peak season. Additionally, Audit Seniors can contribute in practice development by taking a leading role in marketing the firm and building long-term relationships with clients with opportunities for advancement to partner for the right candidate.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage client audit engagements, including overseeing junior staff.
  • Develop audit programs and testing procedures tailored to client needs.
  • Communicate with clients and audit authorities, ensuring clear, professional interactions.
  • Monitor budgets and recommend billing on engagements to partners.
  • Participate in business development initiative, helping to grow the firm.
Qualifications
  • CPA License or near completion of CPA exam.
  • Minimum of 3 years of financial statement audit experience in public accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and GAAS.
  • Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley and COSO frameworks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and CaseWare.
  • Government accounting experience, including government contracts, is a plus.
  • Effective communication and client service skills.
  • Supervisory experience in audit leadership roles preferred.
