Teuscher Walpole, a growing public accounting firm located in Draper, Utah, is seeking a Tax Manager. Our philosophy is to create and maintain an excellent work environment which encourages professional growth. Our staff is provided with specialized on the job training to help them be knowledgeable and able to add additional insight to the challenges. Managers act as technical advisors in providing advice to others in resolving moderate to complex tax situations with opportunities to work directly with staff, seniors, partners, clients, other service providers and the taxing authorities. The ability to supervise multiple engagements at one time (including review of income tax returns and tax planning projections), as well as research of tax questions, is required. Managers can participate in practice development by playing a leading role in marketing the firm and for a long-term relationship to include advancement to partner for the right fit.

  • Supervise and review tax return preparation and planning engagements.
  • Supervisor and mentor, the tax department staff.
  • Communicate directly with taxing authority representatives.
  • Project management and client relations.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of professional standards and the ability to identify areas of improvement in clients’ systems and procedures.
  • Stay up to date on current tax code and maintain professional expertise.
Job Function
  • 5+ years of experience in the audit arena of public accounting
  • Licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (required)
  • Must be experienced and comfortable with training and mentoring staff accountants
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience in a leadership role
  • Familiarity in UltraTax a plus
